Island to Island:
Gospel Fellowship
Our Story
Missionaries swept through the Pacific Islands in the 1800s. Now, if you look up the religious demographics, you’ll see some of the most Christian nations in the world. God certainly did amazing things through the first missionaries into the Pacific. So why are we talking about missions and the Pacific?
The full story is a little more complicated than what the statistics tell you. The islands are heavily churched but just as heavily saturated with cults, Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, the prosperity gospel, cultural nominalism, and syncretism.
The Island to Island Gospel Fellowship (I2I) formed in 2018 is a network of like-minded churches that desire to see the gospel of Jesus Christ revitalised in the lives and churches of the Pacific Island nations.
Our Vision
The vision of I2I is to see the gospel of Jesus Christ revitalised in the lives and churches of the Pacific Island nations.
Our Mission
The mission of I2I is to mediate resource partnerships for the gospel revitalisation of the Pacific Island nations by creating, supporting, and encouraging churches, organisations, and institutions towards church planting, theological education, leadership training, mercy and justice, and more.
Our Values
Gospel: The truth and power of the gospel shape and drive all our ministry efforts.
Church: The establishment, growth, and maturity of the Church is primary in all our ministry efforts. God redeems not just individuals but communities of people as he plants his Church, which exists both as local bodies and as interconnected parts of the Church universal.
Prayer: God is sovereign and we are dependent on him for all we need and so seek Him in prayer in all our ministry efforts.
Coordination: We are one body with many parts and so seek to utilise our different gifts and passions for our common vision and mission with united coordination, as well as flexibility and freedom.
